Your peripheral nerves connect your brain and spinal cord to other parts of your body. These nerves control your muscles so you can walk, blink, swallow, pick up things, and do other activities.
- Different types of nerve tumors occur. Although their cause is generally unknown, some are hereditary.
- Most tumors are not cancerous (malignant) but can cause nerve damage and loss of muscle control. Because of this, it is important to see your doctor if you experience any unusual lump, pain, tingling, or numbness, or muscle weakness.Benign peripheral nerve tumor Treatment Nizamabad
The cause of benign peripheral nerve tumors is usually not known. Some are inherited. The most common type is schwannoma. It usually starts in a single bundle within the main nerve and displaces the rest of the nerve.
- Another common type is neurofibroma. These tumors often form in the nerve. Sometimes they come from multiple nerve bundles.
- Perineviomas are rare and can grow inside or outside the nerve. Tumors outside of a nerve can cause problems if they press on the nerve. Other benign tumors that form outside of the nerves are soft clumps of slowly growing fat cells called lipomas and ganglion cysts.Benign peripheral nerve tumor Treatment Nizamabad
