Small ganglion cysts can be the size of a pea, while the larger ones can be about an inch in diameter. Ganglion cysts can be painful when pressing on a nearby nerve. Your position can sometimes interfere with joint movement. Ganglion cyst Treatment in Hyderabad
Bumps associated with ganglion cysts can be characterized by:
Place. Ganglion cysts most commonly develop along the tendons or joints of your wrists or hands. The next most common spots are the ankles and feet. These cysts can appear near other joints as well.
Shape and size. Ganglion cysts are round or oval and usually less than an inch in diameter. Some are so small that they cannot be felt. The size of a cyst can fluctuate, and will often get larger as you use this joint for repetitive motion.
Pain. Ganglion cysts are usually painless. But when a cyst is pressing on a nerve – even if the cyst is too small to form a visible mass – it can cause pain, tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. Ganglion cyst Treatment in Hyderabad
Nobody knows exactly why a ganglion cyst develops. It develops from a joint or the lining of a tendon that resembles a tiny water balloon on a pole, and appears to occur when the tissue around a joint or tendon swells in its place. There is a thick lubricating fluid in the cyst that is similar to what is found in joints or tendons.
Factors that can increase your risk of ganglion cysts include:
Your gender and age. Ganglion cysts can occur in anyone, but are most common in women between the ages of 20 and 40.
Arthrosis. People with arthritis due to wear and tear on the finger joints closest to their fingernails are at greater risk of developing ganglion cysts near these joints.
Injury to joints or tendons. Joints or tendons injured in the past are more likely to develop ganglion cysts. Ganglion cyst Treatment in Hyderabad
