Retinal detachment Treatment in Hyderabad

Retinal detachment separates the retinal cells from the layer of blood vessels that provide oxygen and food. The longer the retinal detachment is left untreated, the greater the risk of permanent vision loss in the affected eye.

Warning signs of retinal detachment could include some or all of the following: sudden onset of swimmers and lightning, and decreased vision. Contacting an ophthalmologist right away can help you save your eyesight. Retinal detachment Treatment in Nizamabad

The retinal detachment itself is painless. But the warning signs almost always appear before it happens or has progressed, such as:

The reasons

There are three different types of retinal detachment:

Rhegmatogen (reg-ma-TODGE-uh-nus). These types of retinal detachments are the most common. Rhegmatogenic detachments are caused by a hole or tear in the retina that allows fluid to pass through and pool under the retina, pulling the retina away from the underlying tissue. The areas where the retina loosens lose their blood supply and stop working, causing you to lose eyesight. Retinal detachment Treatment in Nizamabad

The most common cause of rhegmatogenic detachment is aging. As you age, the gelatinous material that fills the inside of your eye, known as vitreous humor (VIT-ree-us), can change in consistency and shrink or become more watery. Usually, the vitreous humor separates from the surface of the retina without complications – a common condition known as posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). One complication of this separation is a rift.

When the vitreous humor becomes detached or detached from the retina, it can pull on the retina with sufficient force to create a retinal tear. If left untreated, liquid vitreous humor can enter the space behind the retina through the crack, causing the retina to loosen.

Tractional. This type of detachment can occur when scar tissue grows on the surface of the retina and the retina withdraws from the fundus. Detachment of traction typically occurs in people with poorly controlled diabetes or other medical conditions.

Risk factors

The following factors increase the risk of retinal detachment:

Aging – retinal detachment is more common in people over 50
Anterior retinal detachment in one eye
Family history of retinal detachment
Extreme myopia (myopia)
Previous eye surgeries such as cataract removal
Previous serious eye injury
Other previous eye diseases or disorders, including retinoschisis, uveitis, or thinning of the peripheral retina (network degeneration). Retinal detachment Treatment in Nizamabad
