overview
Selective IgA deficiency is a disease of the immune system in which immunoglobulin A (IgA), a protein used to fight infections (antibodies), is missing or insufficient. Most people with selective IgA deficiency do not have recurrent infections. However, some people with IgA deficiency have pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections, allergies, asthma, and diarrhea.
