The tongue (ankyloglossia) is a condition that occurs at birth and restricts the range of motion of the tongue.The tongue clip is an unusually short, thick, or narrow band of tissue (lingual frenulum) that attaches the underside of the tip of the tongue to the floor of the mouth, which can affect breastfeeding. Signs and symptoms of tongue connection include:
Difficulty lifting the tongue up to the top of the teeth or moving the tongue from side to side
Difficulty sticking out of the tongue beyond the lower front teeth
A tongue that has a cut or heart shape when stuck on
The reasons
Typically, the lingual frenulum separates before birth so that the tongue can move freely. With the tongue, the lingual frenum remains attached to the base of the tongue. Risk factors
Although the voice link can affect anyone, it is more common in boys than girls. Tongue binding sometimes works in families.
