A meniscus tear is one of the most common knee injuries. Any activity that involves forcibly twisting or twisting your knee, especially putting all your weight on it, can cause a tear in the meniscus.
Each of your knees has two C-shaped pieces of cartilage that act as a cushion between the tibia and femur (menisci). A tear in the meniscus causes pain, swelling, and stiffness. You may also feel a blockage in the movement of the knee and have difficulty straightening the knee fully.
Conservative treatment – such as rest, ice, and medication – is sometimes enough to relieve the pain of a torn meniscus and give the injury time to heal on its own. In other cases, however, a meniscal tear may require surgical repair. Torn meniscus Treatment in Khammam
If you’ve torn your meniscus, the following signs and symptoms may appear in the knee:
- A shimmering feeling
- Swelling or stiffness
- Pain, especially when twisting or twisting the knee
- Difficulty in fully extending the knee
- You feel like your knee is locked into place when you try to move it
- Feeling your knee is giving way
A meniscus tear can be the result of any activity that involves vigorously twisting or twisting your knee, such as walking. B. Aggressive panning or sudden stopping and turning. Even kneeling, crouching, or lifting something heavy can sometimes cause a meniscus tear.
In the elderly, degenerative changes in the knee can result in a meniscal tear with little or no trauma.
Activities that aggressively twist and pivot the knee expose you to a meniscal tear. The risk is especially high for athletes – especially those who practice contact sports like soccer or paddle activities like tennis or basketball.
The wear and tear on the knees with age increases the risk of tearing the meniscus. Obesity too.
